B.A. (Sociology and Urban Studies, York U.), M.Sc.(Demography, U. Montr\u00e9al) and Ph.D. (U. Montr\u00e9al) taught sociology and held a Canada Research Chair in Technology and Culture at Acadia University in Nova Scotia (1998-2006)before joining the School of Communication at Simon Fraser University in 2006. She was a pre-doctoral research fellow at the National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. and a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre de sociologie de l&#8217;innovation, l&#8217;\u00e9cole des Mines, Paris. During a sabbatical in 2004-05 she was based at the Chemical Heritage Society in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>Her current research projects focus on arts networks, cultural heritage institutions, collective memory, changing forms of creative work, technological innovation and trans-disciplinary collaboration.
